Dr Ammar Binsadiq
Dr Ammar Binsadiq is a New Zealand-trained ophthalmologist with subspeciality training in medical retinal and vitreoretinal surgery.
Ammar completed his medical degree at the University of Otago and furthered his studies to graduate with a Master of Ophthalmology. He completed his specialist ophthalmology training having worked in several centres across New Zealand. He has undergone further subspecialist fellowship training in medical retina and vitreoretinal surgery.
Ammar provides comprehensive ophthalmology care and specialises in retinal conditions such as diabetic eye disease and age-related macular degeneration and has special interest in uveitis (ocular inflammation).
As a surgeon, he is able to address diseases that affect the retina and macula such as retinal detachment, epiretinal membranes, macular holes and diabetic retinopathy as well as complex cataract surgeries and secondary lens implantation.

- Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) – University of Otago
- Postgraduate Diploma in Ophthalmic Basic Sciences (PGDipOphthBS) – University of Otago
- Master of Ophthalmology (MOphth) – University of Otago
- Fellow of Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (FRANZCO)
- Clinical Fellowship in Medical Retina and Vitreoretinal surgery (Waikato Hospital, Hamilton, NZ)
